The best is 3/29/85

What makes a good version of this song for me is when Jerry bares down on the main riff and when they put a lot of emotion in the chourus

The Oade version of 3/29/85 is great because you can kind of hear the crowd singing the chorus with the band. Gives me goosebump.

04-29-1971 is amazing

go to 04-18-1982 for an "album perfect" version that opens the second set...definitely check it out

alot of people like the version from 05-02-1970 despite some out of tune guitar moments...

11-30-1973 is pretty good, as well

Hey Stratocaster- on a completely different note can you tell me what differentiated Legion of Mary from The Jerry Garcia Band?

Check out 10-12-84 (to open set II). In particular, the Beyer AUD: http://www.archive.org/audio/etree-details-db.php?id=16158&from=otherCopy

Great stuff. A killer Cold rain and Morning Dew.

JGB performs originals and alot of r & b standards...definitely JGB was centered around Garcia singing/ playing...Legion of Mary was more about pushing the envelope in terms of funky jams, not as much in the way of vocals, but you got "expressway to your heart" and alot of jazz/ funk (as was very typical of the 70s) what you didn't get with L of M was Jerry songs...not strictly centered on Garcia, it was more about ensemble playing...I personally prefer Garcia Band 78' on...

My favorite has to be the killer version on Steppin Out with the Grateful Dead from Europe 72. Was this album dubbed? It almost sounds too together.
